a sigh of relief.....
After a long two weeks of bed rest, sleepless nights, tearful days, and endless worries.... I am finally breathing a sigh of relief. I have obviously been given a miracle. After sevearl appointments, an MRI, and hundreds of ultrasound images with the head Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist at my hospital's perinatology unit.... mommy and baby Charlie are fine! No placenta praevia, no placenta accreta. I go back in 3 weeks for another MRI and more extensive ultrasounds, but we are fine! I am off bed rest and was told to enjoy this pregnancy. Baby Charlie is huge! At 16 weeks he is already measuing in at 7 ounces and appears to be more at 18-19 weeks rather than just 16... another big boy! I am so happy, and so relieved, and so excited to know that little Charlie is safe, and growing, and healthy, and will be able to stay put in my tummy growing until he is nice and big and ready to come into this world. I am looking forward to sleeping tonight, not being haunted by the thought of bleeding out on the operating table, leaving behind my lovely precious boys. I am overjoyed tonight. Caillou's eyes sparkled with joy and relief when I told him "mommy's owie in her tummy was all gone" it felt so good to be able to pick up and hold my boys tonight for the first time in 2 weeks, and to be up and about, giving them showers, washing their hair, and playing with them. So happy.
